Small knowledge of plastic doors and windows

Plastic profile
Plastic profile refers to the PVC profile used to make doors and windows. It has appeared in Germany as early as the late 1950s. China only started to introduce it in 1983 and only started to popularize it in the late 1990s.
Because doors and windows made of pure PVC profiles are not strong enough, steel is usually added to the cavity to enhance the firmness of the doors and windows. Therefore, plastic doors and windows made of added steel inside the profiles are often called plastic steel doors and windows. With the widespread use of plastic-steel doors and windows, the PVC profiles used to make plastic-steel doors and windows are traditionally called plastic-steel profiles. Plastic steel is also used as a common material for guardrails.

The Chinese name plastic steel profile is actually used to make PVC profiles for doors and windows. It appeared in the late 1950s in Germany. It has been introduced in China. It has only been introduced since 1983.

Plastic steel profiles are made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin as the main raw material, plus a certain proportion of stabilizers, colorants, fillers, ultraviolet absorbers, etc., after extrusion.
main feature
Plastic steel profile is called plastic steel for short, the main chemical component is PVC, so it is also called PVC profile. It is a new type of building material that is widely used. Because of its excellent physical properties such as rigidity, elasticity, corrosion resistance, and aging resistance, it is usually used as a good substitute for non-ferrous metals such as copper, zinc, and aluminum.
It is mainly used for pushing and pulling in housing construction, opening doors and windows, guardrails, pipes and ceiling materials. It is also widely used in automobile engine protection panels through new process processes. It is not only light in weight, but also has good toughness and rigidity. Properties, sometimes called alloy steel.
The reason why plastic steel profiles can be widely applied and gradually replace wooden and aluminum doors and windows is inseparable from its unique advantages. Plastic steel doors and windows have the following advantages over aluminum and wooden doors and windows:
1. The price is cheap, and the price of plastic is much lower than that of aluminum with the same strength and life. This advantage has become more and more obvious due to the sharp increase in metal prices.
2. Rich colors: The application of colored plastic steel profiles adds a lot of appearance to the building. In the past, wooden doors and windows were used. In order to achieve harmony between the doors and windows and the appearance of the building, paint is often sprayed on the surface of the doors and windows. The paint is easily aging and peeling off when exposed to ultraviolet rays. Later, color aluminum doors and windows were invented, but the price is expensive and the average consumer cannot afford it. The use of plastic doors and windows solves this problem, and the color film profiles can even make a fake wood grain effect.
3. Durable: The reinforced steel is added into the profile cavity, so that the strength of the profile is greatly improved, and it has the effects of earthquake resistance and wind erosion resistance. In addition, the multi-cavity structure of the profile, independent drainage cavity, so that water can not enter the reinforced steel cavity, to avoid corrosion of the steel, the service life of doors and windows is improved. The addition of anti-ultraviolet components also improves the weather resistance of plastic steel profiles, and even tropical areas with strong ultraviolet rays can be used with confidence.
4. Good thermal insulation performance: the thermal conductivity of plastic steel profile is far inferior to that of aluminum profile. In addition, the design of multi-cavity structure achieves the effect of thermal insulation. Studies have shown that the temperature of rooms with plastic doors and windows in the same type of rooms in summer is 5-7 ° C lower than that of aluminum doors and windows, and 8-15 ° C in winter in different areas.
5. Good sound insulation performance: The sound insulation performance of plastic steel doors and windows installed with insulating glass is well sealed. Sound insulation has become the main condition for choosing doors and windows, especially in residential areas. The plastic steel doors and windows are assembled by welding technology, and the closed multi-cavity structure has obvious effect on the noise.
With the widespread use of plastic profiles, some shortcomings have also been exposed. Most of the inferior profiles of plastic steel profiles in China use lead salt stabilizers, and the lead content of finished products is between 0.6% and 1.2%. Lead is a harmful substance to the human body. When inferior profiles age, lead-containing dust will be deposited. After long-term exposure, lead content in the blood will exceed the standard, or even lead poisoning. The imported calcium zinc and organic tin formulas solve the problem of lead in products, but due to price reasons and immature technology, they have not been applied on a large scale.
Identification method
There are two main points to identify the advantages and disadvantages of plastic steel profiles. It depends on the appearance. The high-quality profiles are of uniform size, reasonable internal cavity structure, soft color, flat protective film, no bubbles, and the wall thickness extension part is generally 2 mm. The second is to look at the anti-counterfeiting code. The authentic plastic steel profile is marked with anti-counterfeiting code on the side, which is composed of 20-digit Arabic numerals in dots. The numbers are clear and easy to identify. The numbers of inferior plastic steel profiles are blurred and easy to erase, and the numbers are often repeated.

First look at the packaging of the profile (that is, the protective film attached to the profile is also a trademark) whether it is flat and smooth, with or without bubbles, and whether it is in a straight line from one end to the other. The trademarks of counterfeit profiles are pasted by hand, there will be a lot of bubbles, and they are crooked, and the quality of the trademark is also very poor. You can see it by careful observation. Remove the protective film and look at the surface of the profile. The surface of a good profile is very smooth and smooth, without small spots of unevenness, with brightness, and the color is really very white (like milk). Looking at the wall thickness of the profile, the main wall thickness of a good profile can be At least two millimeters, there is the toughness of the profile, you can use the vise to clamp the profile wall, and break back and forth, the good profile will not fall off easily (not applicable in winter, because the temperature is relatively low in winter, the plastic will become very brittle) strict In terms of national industry regulations, processing below 10 degrees Celsius is not allowed. Another thing is to look at anti-counterfeit code printing, there will be anti-counterfeit code printing on the real profile, in general, you can tell the true and false without calling the inquiry, a 6 meters long profile will have 4 to 6 code groups first See if the handwriting of the coding group is clear and complete, (fake profiles are manually brushed by a very simple transfer machine after leaving the factory, and they will be blurred). The main function
1. Insulation and energy saving: The plastic-steel profile multi-cavity structure has good thermal insulation performance and low heat transfer coefficient, which is only 1/357 of steel and 1/12550 of aluminum. Its economic and social benefits are huge .
2. Airtightness: All the gaps in the installation of plastic steel doors and windows are equipped with rubber and plastic sealing strips and wool tops, so the airtightness is much higher than that of aluminum alloy doors and windows. The airtightness of the plastic steel side-hung doors and windows is higher than that of the sliding windows. Under normal circumstances, the air tightness of casement windows can reach five levels, and sliding windows can reach two levels.
3. Watertightness: Because the plastic steel profile has a unique multi-cavity structure, it has an independent drainage cavity, and the water accumulated in the frame or fan can be effectively discharged. The watertightness of plastic casement windows is much higher than that of sliding windows. In general, the watertightness of casement windows can reach five levels, and that of sliding windows can reach three to four levels.
4. Wind pressure resistance: In the independent plastic material cavity, 1.5 ~ 3MM thick steel lining can be added, and the plastic steel is selected according to the local wind pressure value, building height, opening size, window design Thickness and profile series to ensure the building requirements for doors and windows. High-rise buildings can choose large-section sliding windows or inner casement windows, and the strength of wind pressure resistance can reach more than six levels. Low-rise buildings can choose outer casement windows or small-section sliding windows. The wind resistance strength is generally at level 3.
5. Corrosion resistance: The plastic steel profile has a unique formula and has good corrosion resistance. For example, if the anti-corrosion hardware and stainless steel profile are used, its service life is about 10 times that of the steel window.
6. Weather resistance: The plastic steel profile adopts a unique formula to improve its cold resistance. Plastic-steel doors and windows can be used for a long time in environments with large temperature difference (-50 ℃ ~ 70 ℃). The sun and humidity will not cause deterioration, aging, embrittlement and other phenomena. The earliest plastic-steel doors and windows have been used for 30 years. The material is intact as before, according to this calculation, the service life of plastic steel doors and windows can reach more than 50 years under normal conditions.
process status
China's plastic steel profile production capacity has reached 5 million tons per year. Most manufacturers are unable to give full play to their production capacity, and there is serious overproduction and homogeneous competition. The general national standard for plastic steel profiles in China is GB / 8814-2004, and enterprises that have received national inspection exemptions are also produced according to this standard. Different from European and American countries, China has a single type of profiles, and most of the circulating products in the market are 60MM swing door and window series profiles and 80MM sliding door and window profiles. The above two specifications account for more than 80% of the total consumption.
From European to American: European profiles are the mainstream in the market, but American profiles are developing rapidly. This is due to the pull of some plastic steel profile manufacturers that are exported to the United States. The American-style sash window has the advantages of liveliness, beauty, exquisite structure, delicate lines, extremely decorative, high lighting rate, high perspective rate, etc., and has been deeply loved by consumers. Because European profiles have been in China for more than 20 years, American profiles cannot replace European profiles in China in the short term. The European profile is about fan-frame, while the American profile is frame-fan. The domestic plastic steel doors and windows are basically fan pack frames.

From white to color: The color profile changes the monotonous white color of the plastic steel doors and windows, which can be matched with the overall color of the building. The market share of color profiles is rising rapidly, especially in some high-end residential areas. 


Three categories
1. Casement window
The advantages are large opening area, good ventilation, good sealing, excellent sound insulation, heat preservation and impermeability. It is convenient to clean the window when it is inside; it does not take up space when it is opened outside. The disadvantage is that the window is small and the view is not wide. The opening of the outer window takes up a space outside the wall, which is easy to be damaged when the wind blows; and the inner window needs to occupy part of the indoor space. The use of screens is inconvenient, and the use of screens, curtains, etc. is not convenient. If the quality is not enough, it may seep rain.
Sliding window
The sliding window has the advantages of simplicity, beautiful appearance, large window width, large glass block, wide field of view, high lighting rate, convenient glass cleaning, flexible use, safe and reliable, long service life, opening in a plane, less space occupation, and easy installation of screens Wait. The most used is the sliding window. The disadvantage is that the two windows cannot be opened at the same time, and at most only half of them can be opened. The ventilation is relatively poor; sometimes the sealing is also slightly poor.
Sliding window: There are two types: left and right, up and down. Sliding windows have the advantage of not occupying indoor space, beautiful appearance, economical price, and good sealing. Adopt high-grade slide rail, gently push to open flexibly. Coupled with large pieces of glass, it not only increases the lighting in the room, but also improves the overall shape of the building. Underhang
This is a kind of aluminum alloy and plastic steel window that appeared later. It is a new form developed on the basis of casement windows. It has two opening methods, which can be opened flat or pushed from the top. When the casement window is closed, the upper part of the window can be pulled inwards to open a gap of about ten centimeters, that is to say, the window can be opened a little from above, the opened part is suspended in the air, and fixed with the window frame by a hinge or the like , So called under-hanging. Its advantages are: it can not only ventilate, but also ensure safety, because of the hinge, the window can only open a ten centimeter gap, can not reach out from the outside, especially suitable for use when no one is at home. The sliding window can also be opened under the suspension.
Swing door
There are single-open swing doors and double-open swing doors: single-open doors only have one door panel, while double-open doors have two door panels. The swing door is divided into one-way opening and two-way opening. One-way opening can only be opened in one direction (only push in or pull out). Two-way opening is that the door leaf can be opened in two directions (such as a spring door). Swing doors are divided relative to other opening methods, because the doors also have mobile opening, upturning, roller shutter lifting, vertical lifting, rotating and so on.
Sliding doors
The sliding door originated in China and spread to North Korea and Japan through Chinese culture. Literally: push the door; from the material: there are wood, metal, organic, inorganic materials; from the use: for bookcases, wall cabinets, bedrooms, living rooms, showroom doors . Production method edit
Store
During the transportation process, the profile should avoid contact with and rub against hard, rough and sharp objects. During storage, avoid high temperature, sun, rain, oil, corrosive chemicals, dust and other damage. When the profiles are stored outdoors, they must be covered and protected. Non-white profiles should be stored away from light.
Cut
Cutting speed 60-70m // sec;
Ensure proper feed rate; blunt sawtooth or too fast feed rate will cause the cut defect;
Precisely adjust the angle of the saw blade to 45 degrees, the maximum angle error is 0.5 degrees;
The limit is strictly in accordance with the given length, and the length error does not exceed 0.5mm;
The cut profile should be placed with the incision face down and welded within 48 hours. In order to avoid excessive storage, the surface of the cut will be contaminated and the welding quality will be affected.
Drilling and milling
The feed rate and cutting speed of drilling holes decrease with the increase of drilling depth;
Double-drill bits should be used to drill holes with a diameter greater than 20mm, and progressively lighter bits should be used to drill holes with a diameter greater than 40mm.
welding
The welding parameters meet the following requirements:
Welding plate temperature: 245-250 degrees
Warm-up time:> 30s
Pressing time:> 30s
Welding pressure: 0.2-0.3MP
The welds must not be yellowed.
Welding corners should avoid sharp cooling and violent impact after the welding is completed. Clearing the corners or drilling, milling and cutting around the weld should be performed at least 1 minute after welding is completed.

Welding and cooling cannot be added in any way.
Corner cleaning is best done after welding: between 1 minute and 30 minutes to ensure the welding strength and obtain high-quality corner seam cleaning effect.
The width of the decorative groove cut out from the plane on both sides of the welding corner is 3mm, and the concentration is not more than 0.3mm.
If the cutting depth is too large or the tool is too blunt, the intensification of knocking when cleaning the inner corner will lead to a decrease in the strength of the welded corner.
If the inner corner (especially the sealing tape installation groove) is drilled too deep or too large, it will lead to a decrease in the welding angle and affect the water tightness.
Embedded
Do not over-stretch any glue strips, and ensure that the glue length is about 2% longer than the installation groove. The sealing strips between the sashes of side-hung windows are a strip of rubber around the circumference.
