SPC Floor Sheet Machine: The Complete Buyer's Guide 2025
What Is an SPC Floor Sheet Machine?
An SPC floor sheet machine is a complete extrusion and calendering line that converts PVC resin, calcium carbonate (limestone powder), stabilisers, and processing aids into a dense, rigid, dimensionally stable composite sheet — the core layer of every SPC flooring plank.
Unlike traditional LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile), SPC contains no plasticiser (DINP/DEHP). The high limestone content — typically 50–70% by weight — gives the finished plank exceptional rigidity, near-zero water absorption, and outstanding dimensional stability across temperature ranges from -15°C to +60°C. These properties have driven explosive global adoption in residential, commercial, and light industrial flooring applications.

How Does the SPC Extrusion Line Work?
The complete SPC production process runs through five key stages on a single integrated line:
| Stage | Equipment | Function |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Mixing | High-speed mixer + cooling mixer | Combines PVC resin, CaCO₃, stabiliser, lubricant, and processing aids into a homogeneous dry blend at 115–120°C, then cools to below 45°C |
| 2. Extrusion | Conical or parallel twin screw extruder | Melts and homogenises the dry blend; delivers a consistent melt flow to the die at controlled pressure and temperature |
| 3. Die shaping | Wide flat die (600–2,200 mm) | Forms the molten PVC-CaCO₃ compound into a flat, wide sheet at the target core thickness (typically 2.5–6 mm) |
| 4. Calendering | 4-roll or 6-roll calender stack | Compresses, polishes, and dimensionally calibrates the sheet; embossing rolls impart surface texture |
| 5. Cooling, cutting & stacking | Cooling conveyor, haul-off, cross-cutter, stacker | Solidifies the sheet, cuts to the target panel length, and stacks for downstream lamination |
